    Hi, monotreme,
Sorry to post here, but I can’t figure out how else to contact a mod. I’ve been unable to log in to PFI Forum for months. Requested and received a change of password several times, but none work. Can you help me here? Thanks!

overtherainbow, I’ll forward your message on to Dude who will have a better idea of how to fix your problem than I do.

Thanks, monotreme. Hope to be back on the forum soon.

Re: “When will the U.S. ever learn?”

You can still get it (as of 6:30 p.m. Sept 7, Melbourne Au time), including some long comments by readers.

Feel free to add the link to your China thread. I am not signed up to post directly.

Thanks Shy Lurker. Pixie found a link that worked for that story as well.

  8. Great Blog! I continue to search Google, looking for personal blogs about avian flu. I am surprised that to get updated, real time information a person must search blogs created by people that actually care. The media doesn’t want to, or can not keep up.

Thanks for posting new information. I use blogs like yours to keep up to date for the feature film we are completing. Our film discusses potential risks when corporations (or colleges, as recently in the news) researches mutations of viruses. It may be of interest to you, or not…. but it was something we couldn’t pass up making after the 2012 WHO publication of the avian flu mutation research. ( http://youtu.be/OI-8t6P2Z9o )

Thanks for all the info you pass along!

I appreciate Independent films and so will not delete your obvious attempt to use your post as an advertisement for your film. However, you may consider actually reading some of my posts rather than just skimming the titles. If you were to do this, you might find a more original plot. The Mad Scientist/Lab Accident trope has been overused, yes? How about this instead:

A nominally Communist country takes a hard turn towards fascism just before their trade-based economy implodes. Knowing that they cannot win a conventional war, they develop a highly lethal, highly contagious flu virus which no-one realises was made in a lab. To cover their tracks, they bribe poor UN member countries to get their puppet installed as WHO Director-General. In addition, they bribe senior ex-members of the US government and military to advance their aims.

I haven’t seen this plot before. At least not in fiction.

A very serious expert on mathematical modelling of pandemics has been recallled, family and all, from overseas by CDC to work on Ebola. This is unheard of.

Hi Monotreme – I have been trying for some time to register on the PFI Forum but keep getting “this user name has been disallowed”…………. has the Forum been “closed” for the moment?

    Hi Monotreme,

Sorry to post this here but ran out of options! I haven’t logged into PFI in years, and when I tried today no luck – looks like my account is deactivated. I tried to email siteadmin@singtomeohmuse but that email wasn’t found. Tried to set up a new account on PFI but every name I tried got a “user name not allowed” message. Any help you can provide???? Thanks!!

I’m sorry, but at this time, it is not possible to set up a new acount on PFI. We were experiencing serious disruptions due to spammers and the precautions taken to stop this have prevented us from accepting new members.

  14. I enjoy PFI regardless, everyone there has been educational whereas most of the internet has not been, with the exception of one other blog I read by Shepherd of the Gurneys. In this house we’ve actually cheered out loud at Pixie and Monotreme when they lay the smack down backed by facts. It’s a beautiful thing. Please keep posting there, all of you.
